Initial Setup for Faro USB Arms

 

- Download the FaroArmUSBDriver from ftp://ftp.kinematics.com/pub/SA/Install/Driver%20Downloads/PCMM%20Arms/FARO/USB%20Arms/.

 

- Run the drive install contained in the download.

 

 

 

Notes Regarding Probes and Calibrations

 

Probe Calibrations Function as Probe Definitions 

- Press the cal button in the interface to run the calibration, hit the 'Edit' button, modify the name & diameter, hit 'Create New', and run the calibration for the new definition.
 

- Then, the next time in the cal dialog, select 'current probe' from the drop down AND/OR hit 'View Log' to see results and set the active calibration.
 

- You can select previous probe/scanner cal's from the calibration log. It's located in
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Faro\FaroArmUsb\FaroArmProbes4.xml"
It has the 4 on the end because it is compatible with version 4's probe file. In future Faro releases, this file name will stay the same as long as the files are compatible. You'll also find FaroLaserScannerSettings.xml in the same folder (don't edit).
 

 

 

TrackArm

 

- Download the TrackArm deployment package from ftp://ftp.kinematics.com/pub/SA/Install/Driver%20Downloads/PCMM%20Arms/FARO/USB%20Arms/Faro%20TrackArm%20Deployment/


- Follow the instructions in the readme to get TrackArm ready to run.
