Initial Setup for CimCore Arms
- Download the
LATEST WinRDS install zip from
ftp://ftp.kinematics.com/pub/SA/Install/Driver%20Downloads/PCMM%20Arms/Cimcore/
(Or search the SA readme for "Romer" or "CimCore" to ensure the right RDS
for your install.)
- Uninstall ALL previous WinRDS's, and reboot your pc.
- If you are installing a USB arm, do not plug the arm into the computer until after installing WinRDS.
- Install the downloaded WinRDS.
- Run the 'RomerPathSet.exe' utility located in the SA install folder by double clicking
on the file in Windows Explorer. This utility tells the interface where to look for the RDS dll's (no need
to set the system path, or move copies of the dll's)
WiFi, Serial, and USB Arms
- The WinRDS Install folder contains a file called 'Installation Instructions for CimCore USB Arm.pdf'. This document covers all needed instructions to install the USB drivers, and finish the setup for a USB arm.
- The WinRDS Install folder also contains documentation specific to setting up both WiFi and Serial Arms.
Loading Arm Data
- CimCore's LoadArmData.exe is now built into CimCore Arm Utilities program. At initial installation, WinRDS handles the loading of arm data as of v. 4.3.
- If you change to a different arm, run Arm Utilities from the CimCore install. Under 'Config', pick the 'Armspecs' tab. This is covered in Romer CimCore's documentation.
Perceptron Contour Scanner
- For the initial install, go to ftp://ftp.kinematics.com/pub/SA/Install/Driver%20Downloads/Scanners/Perceptron/ScanWorks/ and download Perceptron ScanWorks v. 5.31.027 (or later if there).
- The file 'Using the Perceptron Contour Scanner with SA (SW v).pdf' contains instructions for using the scanner in the SA Arm interface. Be sure to get the latest version of this file to match your ScanWorks version. NOTE: ALWAYS use the LATEST version of ScanWorks. For example, even if you have a v4 scanner, use ScanWorks v5 or later!
- NOTE re. network settings: If your pc is on a network that assigns ip addresses, then there should be no settings necessary. If you are connecting directly from your pc to the controller via a cross cable, and have trouble, the default ip of the ScanWorks controller is
192.168.19.13
